We're two 40-somethings who have known each other since before puberty, coming together with very different, yet similar, views of the world and peppering it with a lot of snark and a bit of pessimism.

Husbands, we've each had 'em, one still does. Kids, we've got them too. What we don't have is a picket fence; but if we did, it would be a faded, chipped, beat-up one. If there's one thing we've learned, it's that life is never perfect no matter how many cans of paint you spread on your fence.
